Pursued by relentless hunters and haunted by impossible choices, they must cross enemy lines and learn that true loyalty is forged not in comfort, but in fire.

My Journey

The Black Arrows did not start as a series. It started when I was seventeen years old and still at High School as a single book – that is when I wrote the first draft. Life then got in the way. University – work – marriage – children, important events and experiences that deserved both my time and my attention.

A few decades passed. I found the old manuscript, quite literally covered in dust in a draw. The pages were yellowed, but the story still called to me. I needed a distraction and the challenge was laid bare before me. I took those yellowing pages and rewrote the story, however, now the characters had more to say, more to do, more of me and the people who had helped weave my life’s tapestry.

The characters kept speaking to me, kept demanding more, in the end there were five books in total. I wrote them all to ensure that there was a finished story, so that you, the readers, would have something to look forward to.

Now the characters are part of me. Barney demands that I think things through. Lucy has become my conscious. Shine demands loyalty. Andre, lends me his strength, courage and determination. They are me and I am them.

My hope is that their story inspires you. That you find something in each one of them to hang onto. That your imagination is fired by my imagination – how awesome would that be! That someday I will be honoured to read your story.
